Patrick Mwiti is the Firm’s Managing Partner. He was worked at the Firm for over 21 years. He has an immense wealth of experience in public and administrative lawplanning and environment law, and regulatory compliance. He is also a vastly experienced and accomplished civil litigator.

Patrick is a qualified and registered Arbitrator, and practices as an Arbitrator in addition to representing clients in arbitral proceedings. He is also a Certified Secretary, and has had a commendable corporate services career, including serving as a legal and corporate manager in the public sector.

Patrick is a seasoned Arbitrator and Litigator. He is known for his ingenious approach to alternative dispute resolution which involves early intervention with other parties and their lawyers before matters turn litigious. His deep wealth of experience accumulated both in the public and private sectors, and in advising both international commercial and not-for-profit organizations, equips him with knowledge, skills and insights that always add value to clients.

Experience 

  •  Substantial experience in civil litigation in Kenyan Superior Courts of record.

  •  Advising on environment regulatory authorities’ requirements and processes for approvals, licenses, negotiation and enforcement.

  •  Advising clients on environment law matters, including legal risk mitigation and management, licensing of projects and developments, appeals and judicial reviews against administrative or quasi-judicial decisions, compliance requirements, due-diligence investigations and compliance auditing. 
  • Advising clients on emerging issues related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) in relation to their projects.
  • Advising clients on all aspects of commercial and corporate disputes.
  • Advice on property law litigation.

  • Advising clients on legal compliance and risk management.
  • Advising and representing not-for-profit organizations, both local and international, in operations establishment, continuous statutory and regulatory compliance, and related matters.

  • Corporate services practice, including providing company secretarial services, governance and management risk advisory, corporate compliance audit services, and other specialised corporate services.

  • Acting and advising clients on corporate and commercial disputes resolution, including representation in conciliations, mediations, arbitrations and litigation.
  • Acting for buyers and sellers in merger and acquisition transactions, including negotiated acquisitions and disposals, takeovers and schemes of arrangements
  • Substantial involvement in alternative dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration and expert determinations, both as a practitioner and an arbitrator. 
  • Providing advice on land use, planning, environmental management and impact assessment, and related matters.
