James Okeyo is a Senior Partner of the Firm and the head of the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. He has a depth of experience in employment law, industrial relations, discrimination and equal opportunity lawoccupational health and safety, and civil litigation in a wide spectrum of industries and sectors.

He is a committed and result oriented litigator, with vast experience and expertise in civil litigation, employment law and practice, and professional malpractice claims. He is also an engaging and thought-provoking Trainer, particular on his areas of specializations, and has been retained by various organizations to consult and train on their professional development programmes.

Experience 

  • Advising on all aspects of employment law including the preparation of employment contracts, interpretation of contracts, and general advice on performance and disciplinary action.

  • Representing corporate clients/employers in employment related claims/disputes including discrimination claims, breach of contract, unfair dismissals, general protections/adverse action claims and workplace investigations.

  • Advising on equal opportunity, anti-discrimination and sexual harassment matters/litigation.

  • Advising on termination of employment including summary dismissal, performance related issues and redundancy, senior executive terminations.

  • Advising employers on obligations in relation to entitlements, including wages, allowances and other benefits, including limitations on senior executive termination payments and underpayment claims.

  • Advising employers on obligations in relation to entitlements, including wages, allowances and other benefits, including limitations on senior executive termination payments and underpayment claims.

  • Bachelor of Laws (Honours).
